We are absolutely thrilled to announce “The First Voyage” featuring The Teaching on the song Apex of a Beautiful Day composed by our very own Evan Flory-Barnes. The Global/Collaborative vision of this project was conceived and produced by our good friend and local Seattle tap-dancer Jessie Sawyers. We’ve worked with Jessie on a multitude of performances and special projects over the years, but this one surely takes the cake. Before getting deep into the back-story of how this beautiful video came to life we encourage you to watch the Dance/Music video for yourself.
It’s hard to believe, but it’s been nearly 10 years to the day that our first performance as The Teaching occurred at Seamonster Lounge. To mark this monumental occasion we decided what better way to celebrate together than at the very spot where it all started! We’re proud that the Seamonster Lounge has been at the heart of the local live music scene all these years. They recently doubled in size with their beautiful renovation and added a great new concert stage in their room. It’s amazing both the band and venue we made our debut at is still rocking 10 years down the road with everything we’ve experienced.
The Teaching is thrilled to announce the release of our latest live album ‘What a Joy’. We had a special release party last March 30th at the Seattle Center for Spiritual Living in Seattle, WA with close friends and fans. It was a lovely concert especially after having been on hiatus from performing publicly for over a year.
